It’s that time again! It’s the elections year and in the past, DYUSA held the elections at the DYUSA national camps for people to run on the board. However, this year, DYUSA is doing something different and more transparent with our members, because we know that not everyone can come to the camp. Also, to fit our philosophy of a bottoms up leadership, we are opening the election to everyone by having an online election.
So, we need YOU to do two things. You can do either or both.
The DYUSA Board strongly believe that DYUSA organization is yours and we want YOU to vote for who will lead DYUSA for the next two years. The election will be available online on June 30th and July 1st. Please keep an eye on instructions on where and how to vote here on June 29th along with the candidates’s information. We need your eyes to tell us who you think will help promoting advocacy and activism for the Deaf Youth in our country. (A reminder that not everyone can vote, only deaf people who are US Citizens from age 18 to 35 can vote, and if you fit in that category and you know any friends of yours do, tell them to vote and you vote too!)
Also, we need people like you to run for these positions to lead DYUSA. We are so excited to see people come out and share their passion to fight for Deaf Youth’s rights. Feel free to submit a vlog, a PDF or Word document, anything you feel that shows your passion to run for the position. If you are submitting PDF or Word Document, please include a photo. The deadline for the submission is June 28th at midnight PST. This will be posted online here for other DYUSA members to review and vote.
All board positions requires two years of full commitment to protect, and promoting Deaf youth’s rights in the country.
